Convincing
"Incisions - Insights" has been a great success since the first event in 2016. The workshop offers exclusive contacts between clinicians and entrepreneurs. For small companies in particular, this is an opportunity to discuss new approaches directly. The medical technicians meet medical directors and senior physicians from a wide variety of disciplines at the operating table. The combination of live surgery transmission and practical exercises in the operating room at the Institute for Clinical Anatomy and Cell Analysis at the University of Tübingen is convincing.
Fingers in the wound
Whether thoracic, cardiac and vascular surgery, general, visceral and transplant surgery, internal medicine - cardiology and circulatory diseases, diagnostic and interventional radiology, anesthesiology and intensive care medicine: Here the specialists in their field put their finger directly into the wound.
Make a wish
For example, when the physicians carry out the implantation of an artificial heart on the anatomical preparation, the developers and engineers from medical technology companies experience the current "medical needs" of physicians live. Which devices are too unwieldy, which instruments too large, which technology is incomplete? What still needs to be developed? The open dialogue inspires the participants to new ideas, tools and procedures for the OR. The doctors at the University Hospital in Tübingen are already calling the series of events: "Make a wish".
Matter for the boss
Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hirt, Medical Director of the Institute for Clinical Anatomy and Cell Analysis, and Prof. Dr. Arnulf Stenzl, Medical Director of the University Clinic for Urology and Director of the Inter-University Center for Medical Technologies Stuttgart - Tübingen (IZST) moderate the discussion with medical directors and senior physicians, while interventions on the anatomical specimen are presented live endoscopically and openly. The workshops take place regularly on different main topics.
