More good recipes for innovations and routes onto the market
Since September 2024, Sophia Wolf, MSc, has been providing support for the
BioRegio STERN Management GmbH team. Her role involves working in two areas –
project and technology transfer management and press and public relations. Wolf,
who is 28 years old, first completed a degree in media and information management
in Offenburg, before going on to study nutritional medicine at the University of
Hohenheim. In addition to a medical management position at Wörwag Pharma GmbH
in Böblingen, Wolf primarily worked in scientific roles, including at Charité
Universitätsmedizin Berlin and at Tübingen University Hospital, where she carried out
clinical and research work as part of the nutrition and weight regulation working group.
The focus of her research at Tübingen University Hospital was on the effects of
isolation on gastrointestinal function and symptoms. As she explains, she has always
been interested in how the human body works and the effects of nutrition. “I’m
delighted that, through my work at BioRegio STERN Management GmbH, I can help
get innovative products and treatments into people’s day-to-day lives faster, thereby
improving the quality of their lives,” she says. And there’s no doubt that this nutritional
specialist has good “recipes” to help her do exactly that.
Since November 2024, Leyla Djanklich, MSc, has also been working at the business
development institution for the life sciences sector. As part of her role, she will be
supporting the ZIMT project AIM (Access for Innovation in Medical technology), which
is developing a new industry-in-clinic platform. “With the AIM project, we are
specifically bringing industry and hospitals together to drive forward the development
of innovative medical devices effectively and serve the current medical needs of
doctors and patients alike,” she explains. Djanklich, who has a bachelor’s degree in
biomedical sciences from the University of Reutlingen and a master’s in
interdisciplinary product development, is the perfect person for this role. She is
concentrating on the issue of how innovative products and medical devices can be
launched onto the market. During her time at the University of Reutlingen, this 29-
year-old’s studies included participation in life sciences projects focusing on topics
such as implant coatings and smart textiles. As part of her further training, she also
focused on quality management for medical devices, good clinical practice (GCP) and
good manufacturing practice (GMP). Since her student days, Djanklich has used and
appreciated the extensive range of information relating to contacts and topics at
BioRegio STERN Management GmbH, so she did not hesitate to apply for the project
manager vacancy advertised – a role that will enable her to contribute her expertise.
