The Max Planck Institute of Biology Tübingen investigates fundamental questions of modern biology at all levels of organization in microbes, plants and animals. The Institute currently consists of six scientific departments and several research groups. The approximately 350 employees come from over 50 countries.

Molecular Biologist (f/m/d)
Your tasks
The core tasks include the cultivation of bacterial plant pathogens, sterile plant cultivation, high-throughput plant infections, DNA extraction and high-throughput DNA sequencing. You will be involved in a project funded by the European Research Council, in which you will collaborate with research groups from the USA and France. You will be based in Tübingen.
Your profile
You are able to perform complex tasks independently, you are well organized and have good time management skills, enjoy learning new techniques, like to work in an international team, and have a very good command of English.
You already have experience with standard molecular biology and microbiology techniques. Experience in working with sterile plant cultures, knowledge of plant-microbe interactions and basic knowledge of genomics is an advantage. You have a technical education or a university degree in molecular biology, microbiology or a related field.

This position is part of the PATHOCOM project funded by the European Research Council and the position is to be filled full-time for the duration of the PATHOCOM project (until at least the end of June 2027).
