Ocean Optics Germany GmbH

Research, development, manufacture and distribution of light optic devices

Optical fibres are the name of the game at Mikropack, founded in 1995 by Gerald Nitsch and Dieter Steck, and Ocean Optics. The multimode fibres or fibre bundles are used in general spectroscopy, colorimetric technology, fibre optic sensors for oxygen or pH measurement technology. The products are used in many sectors, ranging from UV-VIS to NIR, and enable applications to be performed easily in the fields of analytics and process measurement technology. Mikropack develops, produces and distributes a wide range of miniature spectrometers, light sources, software and accessories to enable these applications.
Ten years ago, Mikropack merged its innovative products with the globally successful spectroscopy product line from Ocean Optics Inc., Florida. The Ocean Optics spectrometer was the perfect accompaniment for Mikropack’s fibre-optic light sources, Ulbricht spheres, multiplexers, mapping tables and wide range of other accessories.

Mikropack is rapidly being expanded into a central European base for the Photonics Group. Mikropack is directly responsible for the distribution of all products for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Another core area of Mikropack’s operations is the development, manufacture and distribution of measuring systems in the thin film metrology sector.
