The medium-sized family business KERN & SOHN GmbH was founded in 1844 by Gottlieb Kern and has since been manufacturing high-precision balances, including laboratory balances, analytical balances, moisture analyzers, microscopes, refractometers, polarimeters, stainless steel balances, industrial scales, crane scales, counting scales, floor scales, pallet scales as well as weighing-specific software solutions, force, hardness material thickness, torque, sound & light measuring instruments and test weights in all OIML error limit classes. One of their core competences is the DAkkS calibration of scales, test weights and force measuring instruments. The KERN calibration laboratory is one of the most modern in Europe and, thanks to its high level of automation, enables DAkkS calibrations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to scales, optical instruments, measuring instruments, test weights and DAkkS calibrations, the company also offers a comprehensive service in all aspects of weighing technology as well as the implementation of customised special designs.The company is certified according to the latest DIN ISO 9001:2015, DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 (weighing instruments, mass, solid volume, solid density, force) and DIN EN ISO/IEC 13485:2016, meets the requirements of Directive 93/42/EEC for medical devices (weighing instruments and body-size measuring instruments class Im) and is represented worldwide by an extensive network of specialist dealers.
