EARLAB GmbH

Innovative Solutions for Objective Hearing Assessment

Founded in 2017 as a spin-off from the University Hospital Tübingen, EARLAB GmbH is an innovative manufacturer of medical devices and research instruments. We are focused on providing easy-to-use yet powerful diagnostic tools for detecting hearing loss, catering to patients, physicians, and audiometric professionals.

Current methods for the objective assessment of hearing loss have limitations in diagnosing the severity and origin of hearing impairment. Furthermore, conventional objective audiometric methods often lack accuracy and frequency-specific information when assessing a patient's hearing. They usually require a time-consuming combination of various acoustical and electrophysical measurements.

EARLAB technology utilizes an innovative stimulation and analysis method. This method measures sound waves emitted by the ear, known as otoacoustic emissions, non-invasively in the ear canal using a measuring probe. Developed at the ENT University Hospital in Tübingen, this method has been employed in published studies involving more than 300 patients.

The journey of sound from the ear canal to the brain involves unique processing by each component of the ear. EARLAB's measurement method analyzes the different influences of these physiological processing steps on the sound waves measured in the ear canal. This approach enables the detection and quantification of pathological changes across almost the entire range of human hearing, presenting the results in an easily interpretable format.

Our goal is to empower everyone to easily scan, preserve, and improve their hearing function.
