AnDiaTec GmbH & Co. KG

Innovative in vitro diagnostics for human and veterinary medicine, together with the food and environmental sector

AnDiaTec was founded by Dr. Johannes Kehle and Dr. Christoph Metzger-Boddien.

AnDiaTec GmbH & Co. KG’s core activities focus on the development, manufacture and sale of in vitro diagnostic tools.

The products marketed include ParaTub® and LactoScan®. ParaTub® is currently the only high-throughput detection method for Mycobacterium paratuberculosis (MAP), the pathogen responsible for incurable paratuberculosis in cattle. MAP causes major economic damage and is also linked to the inflammatory bowel condition called Crohn’s disease in humans.

LactoScan® is a simple and rapid test for reliably detecting lactose intolerance in humans. It is likely that more than 10 million people in Germany are affected by lactose intolerance, a disease that, in the form of primary lactose intolerance, has genetic causes and can lead to under-supplies of lactase between the ages of 6 and 20 and subsequently lead to symptoms typical of the disease.

AnDiaTec GmbH & Co. KG is also an adviser to the WHO in the context of a diagnostic project for enteroviruses in India.
