Delegation visit from the USA to the STERN BioRegion

On 14 October 2024, BioRegio STERN Management GmbH welcomed a delegation from the US state of Montana to Stuttgart. This interesting exchange was organised at the request of AHP International GmbH & Co. KG and was organised in cooperation with the Montana Department of Commerce. The event offered the participating life sciences companies the opportunity to introduce themselves and establish contacts.

The international guests from a total of nine organisations:

Beem Health offers a Remote Monitoring Health Kit specifically tailored to the needs of patients. Golden Helix, Inc. develops innovative software solutions for genetic analysis, while Montana Molecular advances the discovery of living cells with fluorescent biosensors. Pallister Genetics focuses on telemedical genetic counselling and consulting services. Penta Machine delivers high-precision machine solutions specifically designed for advanced manufacturing applications. Skyland Innovations specialises in the manufacture of ePTFE OEM components. TeraDact offers comprehensive data protection and security products. Tinkle Belle has developed a portable device that makes it easier for women to urinate on the go. Finally, AHP International advises companies on international trade issues.


From the STERN BioRegion:

CeGaT GmbH and LAN Network GmbH from Tübingen were represented on site. 
CeGaT offers genetic analyses for medical and pharmaceutical applications and combines state-of-the-art sequencing technology with medical expertise to identify the genetic causes of diseases. 
LAN Network brings together leading providers of laboratory automation and offers customised technology solutions from analysis to implementation.

HB Technologies GmbH from Tübingen and FlareOn Biotech GmbH from Frickenhausen are also involved in the exchange. HB Technologies develops software solutions for biotechnology and medical technology, with a focus on laboratory automation and artificial intelligence. FlareOn Biotech has developed an innovative tool that supports surgeons in the precise removal of tumours and shortens operating times.

The delegation visit was a great success and an excellent platform for the exchange of ideas and the promotion of new collaborations in the fields of biotechnology, medical technology and IT.

"I studied classical chemistry, completed additional internships at the Institute of Biochemistry in Würzburg and was thus able to complete my diploma and PhD thesis in this field of chemistry. Based on my experiences that I could gather as a researcher at immatics biotechnologies GmbH in Germany and abroad, I can easily identify suitable partners from companies or institutions in an international context in order to initiate potential collaborations. Since 2011, I have been involved in various EU projects at BioRegio STERN Management GmbH and am now responsible as a project manager for the Interreg NWE project Boost4Health, launched in April 2016, to support and promote the economic development of regional and transnational SMEs. Through my numerous contacts with other European networks, I am also the initiator and contact for further diverse cooperation in neighboring European countries."
