Under the motto "Thinking business forward", BioRegio STERN Management GmbH promotes dialogue between the players in both high-tech sectors. With the "Medical Technology Action Plan", BioRegio STERN is using its almost ten years of expertise to support the partner cluster biosaxony e. V. With more than 100 companies from the fields of diagnostics, medical device development and manufacturing, prosthetics, implants and medical electronics, as well as a strong research landscape, the medical technology landscape in Saxony offers ideal conditions for joint research and development projects. The aim of the comprehensive cooperation is to further advance the development and marketing of novel biomedical technology products or therapies and to bring forth new convergence technologies to strengthen Germany as a high-tech location.

The funding measure "go-cluster - cross-clustering" of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy BMWi aims at better networking clusters in order to strengthen and further develop future-relevant industries. One of these future-relevant sectors is biotechnology, which as a key technology can also make an innovative contribution to medical technology.

The result of the collaboration is the comprehensive study "Discovering and realizing synergies: Cooperation between Biotechnology and Medical Technology Companies" which was conducted in 2005/ 2006 and provides exciting insights into the medical technology and biotechnology industries at that time. To this day, the partners of biosaxony e.V. and BioRegio STERN Management GmbH remain in contact.
